The dance of life
I always find morning shoots kind of rough. On the one hand it’s nice since locations are usually empty and the lighting is more mellow; on the other, I feel like I haven’t warmed up yet. This particular morning shoot was a lot colder than I expected, but had some nice haze from the fog. I shouldn’t really complain though, since my model Sandy had it much worse off. Many thanks to Sandy for braving the cold!
This is the first shoot I had since getting my Leica M 240 back from CLA. I was eager to see if the calibration went well. Long story short, it’s focusing as expected now. I’m glad I sent it in despite waiting almost 4 months to get my camera back.
I picked this location since I thought that the dead woods would work well with a Day of the Dead type of look. The browns served as a nice neutral backdrop to highlight the more vibrant makeup. The shoot went by quickly as usual, but I was able to snag some film shots on the Mamiya before we wrapped up.
I hope that you enjoy the photos!
